Bhavana‘s real name is Karthika, is the daughter of Asst. Cinematographer, G.Balachandran Menon and Pushpa. Bhavana has only one brother named Jayaddev.Bhavana‘s first film “nammal” was a big hit in malayam.Nammal was released in 2002.In 2003, she became the part of big hit movies like Chronic Bachelor, C.I.D.Moosa, Swapnakoodu etc.Bhavana got the State Awardfor Best Character Actress for Daivanamathil in 2006.
Bhavana‘s new project’s are vaazhthukkal with madhavan, Jayamkondaan with vinay and Saddam Hussain with dhanush. vaazhthukkal is directed by Seeman, Jayamkondaan by Kannan and Saddam Hussain is directed by Ram. B. V. Rama Rao’s Ontari is bhavana‘s upcoming telugu film with Gopichand at 2008.

Malayalam actress Bhavana had been getting plenty of offers to act in Telugu films. But Bhavana had been refusing them all. Finally, when she did accept an offer, it was only after replacing one of the hottest heroines in Bollywood!
Takkari is the name of the film and it stars Nithin in the lead role. It turns out that the film’s director had initially signed Nisha Kothari up for the role. Nisha Kothari is a Ram Gopal Varma discovery. The super-sexy heroine is known for her willingness to do glamorous roles and wear tiny clothes. She also is dealing with rumors romantically linking her with RGV.
It is not clear yet why Nisha Kothari was removed from the film. Maybe the director was looking for a less controversial and glamorous heroine for the role. According to rumors, Nisha was removed from one of her Hindi films because she was spending too much time on the phone talking to RGV.
