Samantha is a south indian actress who is born and brought up in Chennai . She started her carrier by modelling . Her first film was Ye Maaya Chesave , a telugu film directed by Gautham Menon . She was the heroine of the commercially success films like Brindavanam , Dokudu . She had also done a cameo role in a hindi film Ekk Deewana tha . She got the filmfare award for the best female debut – south for her acting in Ye Maaya Chesave . She is now busy with acting in more than five films both in tamil and telugu . If reports are to be believed, Samantha is going to act in Maniratanam’s new movie Kadal . The film is going to start its shotting soon .
