The Bhoopathi-Dhanush duo, in their earlier teaming up together in ‘Devatathayai Kandein’ had attempted a love story where a youth, ditched by his girl, hauls
her up in court. But this attempt at being different worked out only to an extent. Now the duo is back again, and this time it’s the youth who appears to ditch his girl for money. But all with a purpose. And this time it’s a delightful, breezy, ligh- hearted entertainer that the duo offers. One that keeps you in splits for the most part.

It’s a role that fits Dhanush perfectly, the director projecting him in a very suitable manner. The actor’s tone and voice modulation seems to be more “grown up” and better. Dhanush, with his perfect comic timing, cruises through his role with flair, the suitable nuances in tone and body language he adds to the character a delight to watch. It’s a long time since one has seen the actor so comfortable in his role. And he takes it in his stride, the potshots thrown at him on his looks and appearance. The one fight scene need have had no part in the scenario.
